My Personal Challenge was to come up with an Easter Spring Layout that was acceptable to my 12 yr. old son...the spring colors and even trendy stuff wasn't working out.
We've been talking about this Psalm "Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart" this week, and it was the focal word and scripture for this week's "Word Challenge", so I ran with that, AND his favorite colors to build this page.
I am using my Cricut and SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot) a lot right now. I used DB Christmas font from ScrapNFont (great people to work with over there),welded to the word delight (free download font Adorable). I colored the circle and Easter Sunday one first with Cricut markers, then switched to blade and cut it using the shadow feature.
Risks were a few butterflies--subtle, the same paper as in the layout...hopefully to not offend the "boyhood"! Also: sheer ribbon through punched holes in each of the Argyle centers on the bottom and threaded a sheer ribbon through. The bottom just needed something...I HAD to use some ribbon
What do you think? 12 year old boy acceptable? We'll see in a couple hours!
